I met a friend over the w/e. His family runs a Mexican restaurant in NY and he mentioned that they have phenomenal beer sales, aided by the fact that the beer is served very cold. Just above freezing. Apparently New Yorkers love their beer ice cold.
Will this fly in London, given our cold weather and the fact that many people seem to like warm beers? We'd love to hear from you.

i think that is a great idea. Let them have a choice of both.
I've always been a fan of wickedly cold beer. Regardless of the weather outside you can't beat a beer served in a frozen glass with a small ice layer forming on the top.
This is how the beer is served in Australia: Australians are famously averse to warm beer.
Very cold beer has a different flavour and I would suggest that the warm spices of your food would be complemented by the tight crisp flavour of a lager served in this manner.
But that's just my opinion...
I'd prefer ice cold beer. Especially with moolis.
Plus, nobody else in the neighbourhood would have it.
i think its pretty obvious what i am going to say. COLD. VERY VERY COLD.
I prefer it cold. Not ice cold. But I might be in the minority...
i love how in japan they make sure the glass is cold too.

It depends, unsurprisingly, on the beer. Lager, yes, the colder the better, since it doesn't taste of fuck-all anyway (which would go some way to explaining Keefab's observations about what Australians do with their swill). But any beer worth actually tasting is worth drinking the British way: room temperature, not warm (these being two vastly different things in these islands). A freezing pint of a local ale is a barbaric thing, and just ask Irishmen what they think of ice-cold stout.
But Moolis will be serving lager, I expect. If so, cold's definitely the way forward.

Depending on the brew, just barely on the living side of frozen may be the temp of choice. However, I have NEVER heard of anyone drinking WARM beer. I have had cool beer (48F), keller temp beer (58F), and room temp beer (68F)...at least those are the temps I refer to. To me, Warm beer would be heated on the stove, or over the grill......IPA's are much better iced, and that is what was served historically in India and Australia. Old habits die hard; drink it how you like it, but keep drinking...
